QUESTION #4: WHAT ARE YOUR EXPECTATIONS AND WHY?

Expectations require convictions. Our challenge is to lock into a conviction long enough for it to change us. Jesus said to Ask, Seek, Knock! Yet we’re wishy washy about our expectations. Why?

Perhaps it is our disbelief. We find it hard to think of ourselves from the same perspective as God does. When this is the case, our perception of ourselves within His perspective is flawed.

Ephesians 5:1 Be imitators of God in everything you do, for then you will represent your Father as his beloved sons and daughters. (PBT)
Perhaps the Amplified version brings more clarity:
Therefore, be imitators of God, as well-beloved children.

Based on what we identify as what we are hungry for and where we find our understanding limited and His grace is the strongest, our expectations should carry us forward. Paul’s prayer in Ephesians 3:16-20 is powerful. Align your faith with the Passion Bible Translation:

And I pray that he would unveil within you the unlimited riches of his glory and favor until supernatural strength floods your innermost being with his divine might and explosive power.

Then, by constantly using your faith, the life of Christ will be released deep inside you, and the resting place of his love will become the very source and root of your life.

Then you will be empowered to discover what every holy one experiences – the great magnitude of the astonishing love of Christ in all its dimensions. How deeply intimate and far-reaching is his love! How enduring and inclusive it is! Endless love beyond measurements that transcends our understanding – this extravagant love pours into you until you are filled to overflowing with the fullness of God!

Never doubt God’s mighty power to work in you and accomplish all this. He will achieve infinitely more than your greatest request, your most unbelievable dream, and exceed your wildest imagination! He will outdo them all, for his miraculous power constantly energizes you.

Our expectations should come back to what God declares about us in His word. God’s not limited by what limits us. (II Timothy 2:9) What if our expectations were to catch up with His?

God is passionately invested in us becoming who we could never become without His directions and interventions. He invested His Son for our salvation and the Holy Spirit for our direction and intervention. Let’s keep answering these 4 H.U.G.E. Questions until we lock into a conviction of their answers long enough for them to change us. Next Question: Will you?
